Emerson Network Power Offers Industry First OpenSAF Training

In-depth courses help increase developer knowledge and productivity

TEMPE, Ariz. [April 1, 2008] – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, today announced the availability of the embedded computing industry’s first OpenSAF™ training classes.  The courses are designed to help customers in markets that require high availability architectures gain a deeper knowledge of OpenSAF software and accelerate the development of their OpenSAF products.

Developed by the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power, the OpenSAF training portfolio gives users the flexibility to immediately access web-based courses and pre-recorded lectures presented by OpenSAF software architects.  In addition, they can schedule instructor-led OpenSAF training via a traditional classroom environment or virtual classroom instruction.  The instructor-led courses feature a hands-on approach in a lab-intensive environment, while the virtual courses use real-time web conferencing technology—allowing individuals to save on travel time.

“As a founding member of the OpenSAF Foundation, we are committed to helping developers gain proficiency with OpenSAF software and decrease the learning curve,” said Jorge Magalhaes, vice president of marketing for the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power.  “We believe these classes will be instrumental in moving OpenSAF software from the early adopter stage into the growth stage, so customers will be able to begin developing high availability applications.”

OpenSAF training classes are available now.  For more information and to enroll, visit http://www.emersonnetworkpowerembeddedcomputing.com/opensaf_training/255.

In addition to OpenSAF training, the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power offers additional professional services.
