Did you know that our Centellis™ 500 chassis received both the Editor’s and Reader’s Tech Choice Awards from eg3.com for the MicroTCA™ category? It was recognized for delivering innovative design and MicroTCA technology across multiple industries, in addition to its practicality for designers. According to eg3.com, the Centellis 500 was chosen the winner from more than 1,500 submissions to their database!
For those of you who may not be up to speed on this system, the Centellis 500 supports multiple enterprise-level applications and houses a MicroTCA backplane, fans, power module, MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH), PrAMC 7211 processor Advanced Mezzanine Card and three additional AMC payloads.
In fact, the senior editor for the eg3.com stated, “At $5,000, Emerson Network Power’s new Centellis 500 breaks the price barrier of previous MicroTCA systems with its innovative plastic packaging. MicroTCA is an area of intense interest, and Emerson’s innovations bring it within the reach of the broad community.”
This recognition further reinforces the strong interest in MicroTCA that we have seen in the market.
The 2008 MicroTCA Summit took place May 28-30 in Chantilly, Virginia. If you weren’t able to attend this informative event, our Embedded Computing booth showcased our broad portfolio of MicroTCA and AdvancedTCA products. However, the highlight of the Summit was the interoperability demonstration that showed a real working system that included components from a variety of different vendors – and it was all
managed by our own SpiderWare®M3 software. Keith Williamson did a phenomenal job coordinating the entire demo and made sure everyone’s equipment worked together seamlessly.
